CUPS OF CAKE, MOTHERCUPPAS!
In anticipation of this weekends bake fest….the confection kind of bake fest…. I bought Grimaldi cupcakes!
Who buys cupcakes when they plan on making cups of cake? I do. I need to eat cupcakes to channel the art of cup of caking! Der!
I mean really….
I limited myself to 3 cups of cake, because I completely understand self-discipline.
BAM!
Look at those pretty flour flowers of sweetness. If you’re not picking up the spring time Easter feel, you need to ask yourself if you’re stupid.
I’ll wait.
Not stupid? Ok, let’s proceed.
If you take a closer look at these you should notice an interesting icing style. I don’t do normal icing… That’s not true, I’ll take any icing. BUT…this type is my favorite. Look at it, a smooth glossy layer of perfection covering…and seeping…into the cup of cake top. It doesn’t stop there, my friends. There is an airy, godly whipped icing FILLING THE INSIDES. It’s IN there.
I ate the last one, the chocolate one, last night so this is very bittersweet for me to pen out…type out?…
I look at these baked morsels and my mouth waters. My yogurt looks less than appealing. My half bagel still looks pretty good though, I’m happy to report.
I’ll leave you with this… If you live in the NYC area, trek out to Grimaldis and fill your pie hole with cupcakes. But don’t tell pie, it might get jealous.

Yeah… that’s real. And I conquered it. JUST LIKE I’LL CONQUER MY OWN BAKING CHALLENGE THIS WEEKEND.
